Research On Contemporary Gannan Feng Shui Masters

This article focuses on Feng Shui masters who long-termly live in Gannan regionand regard Feng Shui career as a means of livelihood. Gannan region not only has a longand rich cultural tradition of Feng Shui, but Feng Shui cultural celebrities are endless.The generation of masters play an important role in promotion and maintenance ofGannan Feng Shui and have much influence on promoting the cultural development ofFeng Shui, and modern cultural environment of creation and formation of Feng Shui.As major carriers of Feng Shui culture, Feng Shui masters always act asdisseminators of Feng Shui culture. Nowadays, all walks and all over the world pay muchattention to Feng Shui culture, but seldom pay attention to Feng Shui masters andresearch about Feng Shui culture. This article regards the Gannan Feng Shui as a researchobject, and combs historical records about Feng Shui culture of Gannan region, initiallygrasps the origins and causes of Feng Shui masters to understand Gannan regiondeveloped background about Feng Shui culture. Secondly, based on fieldwork andarchival material, especially fresh Feng Shui oral information, this paper focuses ondescription and discussion of business experience and social identity of the basiccharacteristics of Feng Shui groups, it aims to summarize the Feng Shui masters’s folklife, and understand unique Feng Shui culture. Finally, this paper also is up to the nationallevel, and takes the survival and trend of the Feng Shui industry into consideration andconcludes that China’s Feng Shui industry needs urgent and norm guide.This paper is inherited the perspective of " the people" in the context of research andfolklore to make a new empirical study of Feng Shui culture in academic fields.
