Chinese idioms have become one of the most important and difficult aspects for overseas students to learn because of the fixed form and the integrated meaning.It is also a key and difficult point for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Chinese textbooks,especially advanced Chinese textbooks,should have a certain amount of idioms.However,in a Chinese textbook,the number,structure type,and arrangement of idioms are worthy of careful research and discussion.In view of this,this article attempts to carry out an all-round investigation and discussion of the arrangement of idioms in the textbooks of the Advanced Spoken Chinese(the three versions of Peking University Edition).It analyzes the characteristics,advantages,and deficiencies of the idioms in this textbooks,and proposes corresponding suggestions for the compilation of teaching materials and related teaching strategy.It is hoped that through a series of targeted and focused investigations and researches,it will provide some help for the arrangement and teaching of Chinese idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The first chapter is introduction.Chapter 2-Chapter 4 is a detailed investigation of the idioms in the Advanced Spoken Chinese.It covers the number of idioms,the distribution of their grades,the structure of the selected idioms,notes,explanations,and practice conditions.In-depth analysis was conducted to explore the advantages and disadvantages of this set of textbooks in idiom arrangement.After investigation and analysis,we can see that the total amount of idioms in this textbook of Advanced Spoken Chinese is relatively large.It is obvious that the writer's emphasis on idiom teaching.Among them,there are many idioms in the superclass,which may cause Chinese learners to acquire certain difficulties in learning.In terms of structure type,the four-character idioms are predominant,and some AABB idioms with overlapping syllables and The juxtaposition and opposition of morpheme meaning.Relatively speaking,Chinese learners are more likely to acquire these idioms.In the way of comment and explanation,writer do not indicate that they are idioms and are treated as a type of words.Comments appear as entries.The idioms that are easy to guess literally and from historical allusions are generally interpreted as a whole,and idioms that contain rare words and classical Chinese words will be annotated with relevant morphemes.Specific conditions are specific to the treatment.In idiom exercises,after-school exercises cover all the idioms that appear,but the types of exercises are not abundant,the distribution of exercises is not uniform enough,and the context of some exercises is not reasonable.In general,the idiom arrangement of this set of textbooks has its own successes and deficiencies.In the fifth chapter,on the basis of the previous investigation and analysis,some relatively specific suggestions for the idioms of the teaching materials are proposed.At the same time,some relevant teaching strategies are proposed for the idiom teaching in the advanced stage of Chinese learning.
