In order to satisfy the need of cultivating well-rounded/versatile students,an increasing number of comprehensive universities(meaning university that is not previously Fine Art-focused)started to have dance program,or dance major.The program is mostly learnt from professional dance schools,thereby,courses are very much similar with the professional dance schools.Dance plays a vital role on cultivating students on improving the comprehensive quality,and artistic ability.This essay aims at cultivating creative dance talents,whom hold high competency in the fiercely competent society,thereby improving the employment rate.The essay is based on the science of the dance,dissect from the teaching syllabus perspective,and incorporate with the years of professional training experience of the writer.It will analyze the problems incurred during the dance program at comprehensive universities,compare and contrast with the related program at professional dance schools,in terms of course syllabus set up,teaching materials selection,students resources,etc.and in-depth research on the cohesion between the steps of the whole dance program.Therefore,it aims to fulfill the need of the society to dance graduates.
