| As one of the representatives of Russian postmodern literature,Vladimir Georgiyevich Sorokin’s works are highly rebellious. The idea of anti-utopia almost exists in every work. The specific manifestation of the work is the confrontation and resolution of the Soviet centralization system and the unitary ideology. In the early stage of creation, writers often use the naturalistic approach to arouse readers’ aesthetic shock,so as to achieve the purpose of deconstruction. After entering the new century,Sorokin’s writing techniques have undergone tremendous changes.Unlike previous irrational confrontation, the narrative style of his works returns to Russian literary tradition with smooth and complete plot and clear theme. And the writer began to think about the fate of Russian people, the future of Russia and even the survival of mankind from the perspective of higher and deeper metaphysics. The two works of anti-utopia,"Day of the Oprichnik" and "The Sugary Kremlin",are the beginning of Sorokin’s new era.The two books set up a future world-Russia in 2027.After a long period of chaos,Russia returned to the era of Ivan the Terrible.Russia not only rebuilt feudal autocratic monarchy and special jurisdiction, but also built the Great Wall which was isolated from European countries. This narrative which combines the ancient and future absurdity is no longer fresh(first appeared in the novel "Blue fat"),but the writer also incorporates more new elements in the two works, such as political events, historical allusions, satirical keynote,Chinese image and distinctive Russian national characteristics. The two works are a complete and interrelated system. They jointly revealed the bloody and cruel social truth under the feudal regime. If "Day of the Oprichnik" is a monologue of the privileged class, then "The Sugary Kremlin" is the voice of the common people. The two books formed a unique dialogue to show the absurd scene of Russia under the new monarchy in politics, culture, technology and people’s spiritual world in front of the readers. On the basis of the continuation of the anti-utopian literary tradition in the twentieth Century, the writer, based on the social reality at the turn of the 20-21 century, thought about the history, present and future of Russia, and expressed its concern about the road to the future development of the country. From here we see that the two works play an important role in Sorokin’s writing process. The writer inherited and developed the Russian anti-utopian literary tradition and pondered over the social reality in the new century.Although the scholars at home and abroad have paid attention to Sorokin’s early works, they have formed some research results, but they lack enough attention to the writers’ new century works, especially the systematic study of the two works of anti-utopia.Therefore,this paper attempts to study the theme and artistic techniques of the two works from the perspective of anti-utopian literature. This paper is composed of introduction, main body for three chapters, epilogue and references. The introduction gives a brief account of the history of Sorokin’s creation, and summarizes the changes in his style before and after his creation as well as the main contents and interconnections of the two works of anti-utopian.Then,it points out the topic basis, the research object, the research task, the theoretical significance, the practical significance, the research method, and defines the main ideas and structure of the paper.and explains the innovation of the paper. The first chapter,"Russian anti-utopian literature",interprets the basic meaning and relationship of utopian and anti-utopia,and explains the history of the emergence and development of Russian anti-utopian literature, focusing on the anti-utopian nature of Russian postmodern literature and summarizes Sorokin’s anti-utopian literary creation process as one of the representative figures of postmodern literature. The second chapter,"The absurdity of the new monarchy in the two works of anti-utopia",analyses and explores the utopias in the two works-the Russian image of the future under the new monarchy. From a political perspective, totalitarian regimes impose persecution on the state and people. In terms of spirit, false patriotic passion and apathy are prevalent among the masses. From the perspective of social life, technological progress is built on illusions. The writer gives readers a clear understanding of the great influence of the special jurisdiction system and the totalitarian system on Russian historical process, social life and people’s thoughts.Through reflection on history and reality, the paper warns the Russian government not to repeat the same mistakes. The third chapter,"The artistic technique in the anti-utopian literature",focuses on the artistic features of the two works of anti-utopia which are antiquity, intertextual games and the absurdity of the different utterances. With the help of the above three means, the writer created a kind of absurd and ironic effect in his works, and realized the deconstruction of the totalitarian system and the totalitarian ideology in this atmosphere. The conclusion part summarizes the content of the full text, and points out that the two works play an important role in Sorokin’s creative process which has a profound influence on the writer’s late creation. |
