Alexander Arutiunian is one of most talented composers of Armenia and he wrote many excellent works in his life.Research object of this article,?Concerto in A-flat for Trumpet?,which was written in 1950,is a rare classic in the development history of the trumpet.The composer was based on the history of the Soviet union Patriotic War,and the character prototype was taken from his friend,Vatsari Young,who died in the war(Chief trumpeter of Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra then).The work portrays a vivid picture of warfare,including intense battle scenes,and expresses deep missing for the old friend and his hometown.There are a lot of Armenian national musical elements in the work,with rich national style.This article,starting with the background and musical structure of the work and combining with the problems and solutions encountered in the performance skills of the author in the process of learning the work,studies and analyzes the “Concerto in A-flat for Trumpet”,aiming to help more players have a deeper understanding and more accurate interpretation of the work.
