| This paper is a practice report on the translation of English sci-tech news,covering the national sci-tech policy,technological achievements and its popularization and application.By analyzing the examples,the project summarizes the translation strategies and skills so as to achieve accurate,concise,natural,fluent,simple and understandable translations.The selected materials mostly come from the latest sci-tech news in China Daily newspaper or website,introducing the most frontier sci-tech development in the fields of artificial intelligence,mobile apps,chip design,sci-tech policy and bio-pharmacy.This practice reports consists of four parts.The first part introduces the background and purpose and the selection of materials.Part two discusses the three principles in translating sci-tech news and the comparative study method by analyzing typical cases.Part three is mainly focused on the analysis of the specific difficulties encountered in translation practice and how to achieve the best translation with three principles.In this part,the author tries to elaborate on how to solve the problems from the perspective of vocabulary,sentence and style.Part four concludes the lessons and experience from translation and puts forward suggestions on how to improve the translation quality. |
