Wei Wei(卫尉)was an important official in The Han Dynasty.t is not only the strengthening of imperial power and the important executor of maintaining the state ruling order centered on the emperor,but also a study of the important parts of the political system and military system under the centralization of power in the Han Dynasty.Studying on Wei Wei has an important reference value for us to study system of Safeguarding Imperial Palace and political system and military system under the centralization of power in the Han Dynasty.Besides,a systematic study of Wei Wei in Han Dynasty can also lay a good foundation for further exploring the development and evolution of the Imperial Palace system.This article is based on the previous research and strive to explore new historical data and make full use of"double evidence"and other methods.The main contents of this paper can be roughly divided into five parts.The specific contents and innovations are as follows:Firstly,Although,it is likely to set in the Warring States period of Qin,but the evidence is still inadequate.After the unification of the Qin Dynasty and the establishment of the emperor system,Wei Wei was one of Zhu Qing.And Weiwei didn’t have any subordinate relationship with Lang Zhong Ling and Zhong Da Fu.At the beginning of the Han Dynasty,the relationship Lang Zhong Ling and Zhong Da Fu Wei Wei,had no changed as still as the Qin dynasty.During the period of Han Jing emperor,the duties of Zhong Da Fu and Wei Wei had many similarities.Therefore,the two officers were merged,and the Zhong Da Fu made the post concurre ntly of Wei Wei.Later,because the Lang Zhong Ling belonging to the order,then reset Wei Wei.Secondly,Wei Wei as a military attache to defend the palace properties.The main functions were the court guarding,charging the southern army,for the war dur ing the war,the other functions was charging of the case in the division like other offices of secretary of state.In the Eastern Han Dynasty,Wei Wei is responsible for the safety of the palace.Thirdly the literature has some records on Wei Wei,including Gong Che Si Ma,Wei Shi Ling,Lv Beng Ling,Zhu Tun Wei Hou Si Ma,Zuo You Du Hou.Unearthed documents were found in the following categories: Jun Jia Sima,Wu Bai Jang,Shi Li,Xiao Zhang.The Wu Bai Jang is the official position of the soldiers in charge of the army.The ranks are between the four hundred and the two hundred.The Shi Li is low rank officers in the defend system of Wei Wei.The Xiao Zhang in charge of picket thieves,the rank of sixty.Fourthly about the appointment moved and term of Wei Wei,By combing the Han Wei Wei 84 served as officials of the immigration and emigration and tenure,draw a conclusion: In the early stage of the Empire,Most of founding hero served as Wei Wei.In the period of Emperor Wu,the military talented person was selected for Wei Wei.The relatives and the minions of the emperor to control the official Wei Wei In the period of the Zhao Xuan.he early Han Dynasty,Wei Wei term of office was more longer and stable.The late Han Dynasty,Wei Wei’s replacement is frequent,short term.Wei Wei mostly move to generals and San Gong.All this were closely related to the political situation,factors such as the change of the Emperor.Finally,the political status of Wei Wei was changed in the Han Dynasty,The specific cases were :In the early Western Han Dynasty,Wei Wei’s position was lower than the Lang Zhong Ling.After Emperor Wu changed Lang Zhong Ling to Guang Lu Xun,Especially in the period of emperor Zhao Emperor to the end of the Western Han Dynasty,Wei Wei could participate in the central decision-making and have independent military generals because of concurrently as a general or Shi zhong.Its political status had been higher than the Lang Zhong Ling;Wei Wei ’s power gradually reduced in the Eastern Han Dynasty.These changes were closely related to the strength of the forces of Imperial and relatives of emperor power and the magnitude of the Lang Zhong Ling(Guang Lu Xun).
