Qian Mu has profoundly discussed the importance of literature,which is a valuable theory heritage that deserves our appreciation.Under the background of the western culture invasion and the crucial moment of Chinese culture's development,Qian Mu exclaimed that we should treat our traditional culture tenderly and that we should make innovations based on our culture,which provides us with a modern proposal about literature and culture.Until now this proposal remains to be valuable in the history of literature explanation.Based on Qian Mu's Xin Xing prospective,this thesis has analyzed his Xin Xing aesthetic theory in details so as to explore the special wisdom behind the Xin Xing aesthetic theory.The author thinks that Chinese introversion cultural tradition is the most fundamental reason that causes Qian Mu to focus on the nature of ‘Xin' in Chinese people;The former thoughts of the great minds had set a theoretical foundation for the nature of Qian Mu's Xin Xing theory;And the era that Qian Mu in was during the western learning spreads to the east and Chinese new culture was quickly growing.During this period,western culture seemed won most Chinese people' favor while on the contrary Chinese own culture was inclined to be deserted.In such a situation,Qian Mu angrily stood up to recall the soul of our traditional culture and emphasized the influence that traditional Xin Xing prospective had on the modernization of literature.The innovation of Qian Mu's Xin Xing prospective is as the following: First,Qian Mu admitted the essence and core position of people's thoughts.However,Xin Xing really belongs to Ren,which is the liberation and settlement of people's heart.Secondly,the unique nature of Qian Mu is that he introduced new ideas of Western so-called oul.He analyzed the differences between Chinese and Western culture traditions and reached the idea that different from the western Concept of mind,Chinese Xin Xing theory pays more attention to the importance of Xin in human beings.And based on the foundation,Chinese tradition speaks highly of Xin.The prospective that compares the differences between Chinese and western culture is truly innovative.In the end,Qian Mu clearly explored the connotation andrelationship between “Xing”and “De”,which indicates the element of humanity in“Xing”.That is to say,instead of Tian,it is human beings that should guide themselves,and human beings should cooperate with the Tian,which is the most special place in Qian Mu's Xin Xing prospective.In addition,Qian Mu individuality explained the function and expression that “Qing” has in the aesthetic theory,and pointed out that human pursuit is pure kindness and beauty.Qian Mu's literature and art prospective has the following several aspects: Qian Mu thought that Chinese language is the bridge between heart and the heart in communication.Therefore,the Xin Xing theory emphasizes the importance of Chinese language more than any other things.Secondly,the best literature is the one that can truly reflect the authors' feelings,personalities and their way of superior behaving.What's more,different from the western literature,Chinese literature and art emphasizes emotion instead of the skills of producing art.Qian Mu's idea of Xin Xing theory not only plays a positive role in resisting westernization and reviving Chinese traditional culture in his time,but also helps current Chinese people to reflect on their way of living and decide whether they should pursue much more materials and neglect their inner peace.Since Qian Mu regarded the Xin Xing aesthetic theory as his standard to evaluate literature and art,there may lead to neglecting the aesthetic characteristics of literary works.
