Since the reform and opening up,in order to make more money,a large number of rural labor force go out of their home.As their age increases, they gradually get married and have their own children in the country, and then according to family comprehensive decision,a majority of men will choose to go out of home to make money alone, while their wife will stay at home to take care of the elderly and young children.Since then,China began to appear left-behind children,left-behind women and left-behind old men.The number of left-behind women has been expanding year by year and they become a group can not be ignored. However, scholars pay very little attention on the left-behind women, especially in their physical and mental health. We know that the left-behind women become the backbone of the family after their husband goes out of home. Then they not only have to bear the heavy farm work, but also have to deal with various family matters.Without husband's concern, their pressure is very large, and then the physical and mental health of left-behind women is affected. In this paper,we use the ordered probit and IV ordered probit model, and use China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)in 2010 and 2012 to study the influence of Chinese rural husbands on physical and mental health of left-behind wives aged 20 to 55 years old.Our conclusion shows that her husband's going out will have an adverse effect on the physical and mental health of the wife who is left in the countryside.
