A Study On Sheng Sheng Zi (省声字) And Sheng Xing Zi (省形字) Of Shuo Wen Jie Zi (说文解字)

This essay takes the Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)and Sheng Xing Zi(省形字)in Shuo Wen Jie Zi Da Xu Ben Version(《说文解字》大徐本)text as the object of study.By storeing out and analyzing these charaters exhaustively,287 Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)and 136Sheng Xing Zi(省形字)are founded.The preface briefly presents the related content of Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)and Sheng Xing Zi(省形字),illustrates the research status including definition,quantity and classfication of Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)and Sheng Xing Zi(省形字),and proposes the research meaning,object and method.The first chapter separately surveys each Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)and obtains the actual data.Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)which have ancient chacaters with Bu Sheng Zhi Xing(不省之形)are considered correct.Then Sheng Sheng Zi(省声字)which have ancient chacaters without Bu Sheng Zhi Xing(不省之形)will be analyzed by phonology and other materials,or some representative views will be listed.The second chapter separately surveys each Sheng Xing Zi(省形字)and obtains the actual data.Firstly Sheng Xing Zi(省形字)which have ancient chacaters with Bu Sheng Zhi Xing(不省之形)are considered correct.Then Sheng Xing Zi(省形字)which have ancient chacaters without Bu Sheng Zhi Xing(不省之形)will be analyzed by phonology and other materials,or some representative views will be listed.The last is conclusion.It gathers up related results,futher emphasizes the main conclusion of this essay.The appndix includes characters forms,which include Sheng Sheng Zi Form(省声字表)and Sheng Xing Zi Form(省形字表).
