Translation Practice Report On Internet News From The Perspective Of Relevance Translation Theory

Owing to the development of internet,internet news is gradually becoming the window of international exchange and communication.Therefore,the translation of internet news turns to be an essential part of news translation.The paper is a tentative endeavor to probe into Chinese-English internet news translation methods from the perspective of relevance translation theory on the basis of the translated texts.Though the relevance theory is not specialized in translation,it is one of the most influential pragmatic theories to translation.Gutt takes translation as a dual ostensive-inferential communicative activity,and emphasizes the optical contextual effect(communicative or propagation effect)realized by effective processing effort,which is of great significance to the internet news translation for that the internet news plays the dual roles of information exchange and foreign publicity.The source text,including literary texts and scientific texts,released by Tianjin University International Media Association(TIMA)is derived from the news on Tianjin University official website.Based on the translation practice,the translation practice report introduces the whole process from pre-translation preparation to post-translation review,meanwhile,the translation methods will be discussed from the perspective of relevance translation theory on the ground of cases analysis.The translation practice report consists of four parts: the first part introduces the translation tasks,consisting of the background,content,requirements and the completeness of task;the second part probes into the translation processes of pre-translation preparation,translation practice and post-translation review;the third part analyses the translation methods chosen under the guidance of relevance translation theory;the forth part concludes the significance and shortcomings of the translation practice.
