Solar technology has been widely used and it has been closely related to our life.Solar energy is a kind of clean,efficient and sustainable renewable energy,which has attracted more and more people's attention.It creates a new form of life for human beings and makes the society enter an era of high efficiency,energy saving and pollution reduction.In the future,solar energy will have a broader market prospect.Therefore,it will be increasingly important to translate the solar technology materials.This thesis is a report on the Chinese translation of the English materials of solar energy and its application is from the websites abroad.Analyses are made on the translation problems and the relevant translation strategies.The problems include the translation of the proper nouns,the determination of the Chinese words/phrases of the English professional and common words/phrases,and the restriction of the English sentence structures.The specific translation strategies include the standardized choice of the corresponding translation of the English proper nouns,the identification and determination of the Chinese words/phrases of the English professional and common words/phrases according to the context and better the target text according to the Chinese discourse features.By doing this translation,the translator realizes that he should reshape his attitudes towards translation,actively build the background knowledge and improve the skills for online searching and analyzing so as to improve his translation skills and abilities.This translation practice report has certain practicality.Hopefully,the report and the translation may be helpful for the relevant translation activities.
