With the development of economic globalization,the small and medium-sized enterprises of China are entering into the global market,and implementing international operations one by one.In this process,trademark is the hardware resource for enterprises to create international brand,and standardized systems are the software resources for enterprises to move towards the internationalization.Therefore,the translation of Enterprise System and Trademark Management Measures is an important step forward for the internationalization of enterprises.However,there still exist many problems in the translation of this kind of texts.Most of the translated texts are highly constrained by the source texts,which are hard to understand and cannot accurately express the original ideas.Therefore,it is necessary to make translation studies on this kind of texts.This translation report is written in accordance with the translation of Enterprise System and Trademark Management Measures of Shanxi Hengsheng Textile Printing and Dyeing Co.Ltd..Hopefully it can provide some useful references for translation practice in this field.The Enterprise System and Trademark Management Measures of enterprises belong to informative text.Chinese and western translators have made relevant studies on this kind of texts.Peter Newmark,a famous British translator,analyzed the using functions of language in different kinds of text-types,and put forward the Text Typology as well as corresponding translation strategies.The purpose of translation is to achieve the intended functions of text,and the intended function of translation of informative text is to accurately transfer the information of the source text.The original text has powerful informative function in transferring the system culture and brand trademark of the enterprise,and the translation can better contribute to the internationalization of the enterprise only when it achieves the informative function of the original text.Therefore,Newmark's Text Typology has positive guiding significance to the translation of informative text.The author adopts communicative translation strategy in the process of translation.In lexical aspect,the author ensures the professionalism and accuracy of terminologies with the help of printed dictionaries and online dictionaries.In syntactic aspect,the author uses different translation methods,including division and synthesization,sequential translation and restructuring translation,translation of active voice and passive voice,in order that the translation conforms to the communicative habits of target language.In textual aspect,the author clarifies the logical relation of the source text,focuses on the wording and diction of translation,and ensures the discourse cohesion,semantic coherence and style unification.This report consists of four parts: The first part is a description of the translation task.It introduces the background and features of the source text,the requirements of the entrusting party and the significance of this translation practice.The second part is about the translation process and the theoretical basis of translation.The third part is the theory introduction and case analysis.The author analyzes the translation principles and strategies of informative text by listing some representative examples under the guidance of Newmark's Text Typology.The fourth part is the conclusion.It concerns the problems to be solved and the points needing attention when this type of texts are translated.It also briefly summarizes the experience and inspirations which can be taken from this translation practice and which may benefit the future translation activities.
