The Analysis Of Susan Sontag's Photography Criticism

Susan Sontag has many works in the field of photographic criticism,especially the on photography,the pain of others.Sontag's photographic criticism is carried out as a concrete practice of new sensibility.In this paper,Sontag's photography criticism is summarized as three theoretical points: viewing style,aesthetic dimension,ethical dimension.The main way of viewing style is that the shooting activity in the context of photography turn the subject of the object world into a subjective visual image of the activities of the collection of photos.That is the collection of the world,thus denying the view of the camera is an objective tool.And then the relationship between the human and the world is re-established.The aesthetic dimension is mainly based on the new sensibility.Photos have form elements and the unique democratization aesthetic standard.The ethical dimension is mainly aimed at the meaning of the photo and moral relationship.As a visual image of the photo,which because of the unique visual form and become difficult to self-speech texts.The meaning only exists in the environment in where to watch,a photo can have more dimensions of interpretation.At the end of this article,the author will comment on Sontag's photography criticism.
