This is a translation practice report on Exercise Psychology by Janet Buckworth,Rod K.Dishman,Patrick J.O'Connor and Phillip D.Tomporowski,of which Chapter 6 Anxiety is the source text.The text for translation is mainly about some definitions,examples and explanations related to anxiety,falling into a category of informative text.The original authors have generally employed popular and common language to make it easier for the public to understand those abstruse psychological knowledge and scientific researches.The main contents of this report are divided into five parts: Chapter 1 is the translation task description,including source,requirement and text introduction.Chapter 2 describes the process description,including preliminary work,translating,review and final modifying.Chapter 3 introduces the specific preliminary work before translating,such as reading the original text,analyzing the original text from the content and the language characteristics,consulting the related data and the parallel texts,and identifying translation tools and consolidating the theoretical basis of the translation.As the core of the report,Chapter 4provides specific strategies used in the translation on the level of words,sentence and discourse.And the methods include sequence translation,reverse translation,splitting translation,transliteration and the change of the voices.The last chapter concludes with the experience,lessons and limitations in the translation project.
