Under the background of economic globalization,more and more Chinese enterprises begin to implement the “Go Global” strategy and engage in international business activities since the beginning of China's reform and opening up.The image of China overseas enterprises not only affects the development of overseas business,but also has a close relationship with the overall image of the country.Enterprise publicity materials,including company profiles,product introduction and corporate responsibility slogans are the main channels to shape and extend the corporate image.It is urgent for enterprises to explore overseas markets and improve the international competitiveness through high quality publicity materials.According to Professor A.S.Hornby,“parallel text refers to the referential translation materials that have the same function or are closely related to the original text,including monograph,item in encyclopedia and examples in dictionaries,etc.”(Hornby,2009,p.91)It enables translators to learn and master terminologies and expressions in different fields to ensure the accuracy and expertise of translation.This report,taking the publicity materials of Ningbo Jingcheng Car Industry Co.,Ltd.as an example,is based on the parallel text alignment to study the translation method of brochures.The translator took the publicity materials of famous brands as references,and discussed the difficulties in translating publicity materials from lexical and syntactic levels.It gave proper translation after analyzing the original text.It reveals that the application of the parallel texts to the practice of the business translation can not only deepen the understanding of the original text,but also provide better and more professional translating solutions.
