In recent years,the rapid development of science and technology and the globalization trend of political and economy,entail new challenges to the field of education and teaching.In the aspect of English education,the society needs talents who have high English comprehensive application ability and strong ability of autonomous learning of English.As is known that Task-based Language Teaching(TBLT)is an efficient way to cultivate highly qualified English talents,but it also shows shortages,like insufficient class time,ineffective real-time monitoring,imperfect scientific evaluation mechanism,etc.Therefore,traditional TBLT fails to satisfy the social requirement for talents cultivation of English.SPOC(Small Private Online Course)is the latest efficient learning model which originals from the relevant achievement of information technology.It combines MOOC with campus classroom teaching,emphasizing students' learning autonomy.It helps to save class time,improve the efficiency of real-time monitoring and enhance the evaluation mechanism,which offers opportunities to make up for shortages of the traditional TBLT.Based on the review of the relevant concepts and features of TBLT and SPOC,this paper attempts to construct a TBLT model of college English based on SPOC.It connects the SPOC online teaching which occurs after class with the offline physical classroom teaching which occurs in class.Meanwhile it presents a concrete operating process according to three links of teaching process and the framework of implementation proposed by Willis(Pre-task?Task-cycle?Language focus).In order to test the efficiency of the model,this paper carries out a practice research.Two class of 2015(class 51552 p and class 51541p)of Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology are the practice objects,with class 51552 p as the experimental class(using TBLT model of college English based on SPOC),and class 51541 p as the control class(using traditional TBLT model).On the basis of CET 3 scores,we select 31 students in each class.Base on similar pre test level,after the analysis of the data statistics from SPSS22.0 and questionnaire.The result shows that the English performance of the experimental class is dramatically better than that of the control class,and the majority of the students are satisfied with the new model.This research demonstrates that TBLT model of college English based on SPOC improves the students' English language comprehensive ability,professional knowledge of English and as well as the students' enthusiasm for English study.Considering the lack of related research in China,this basic research and practice research might offer a path for the future study of college English teaching model.
