The Study Of The Own-age Effect Of Forgiveness

China has been paying attention to harmony as a beauty since ancient times,but where there are people,there is a relationship,then there will be conflicts.With the acceleration of the aging process in China,the social conflicts on the elderly has also aroused strong concern(Bus seat event,Pengci event(Zhao Yan,2016;Qiao Xinsheng,2016)),and there have been constant negative thoughts like the old man goes bad or the bad old,which easily lead to opposition between social groups,distrust between people and social disharmony.And forgiveness is an effective way to resolve conflicts,it can not only maintain and repair interpersonal relationships,but also can expand the social support network,improve the life satisfaction.Now the research about forgiveness are mainly concentr ated in teenagers and college students,to the elderly as the research object is too little,and mainly focus on the elderly self forgiveness aspects(Ebrahimi,Azkhosh Froughan,Dolatshahee,& Shoaei,2015).Studies have found that forgiveness has age differences,old people has more willing to forgive than young people,higher levels of forgiveness(Cheng & Yim,2008).But now the research is separate from the angle of the offender’s to compare the differences in the levels of forgiveness and the reasons for the differences,not considering the infl-uence of the offender’s age in it.The own-age-effect of forgiveness refers to that in the event of an offense,compared to the old offender,young people are more willing to forgive the offender with the same age as them,what’s more,compared with the young offender,old people are more willing to forgive offenders with their own age.About the study of own-age-effect in for-giveness,firstly,expand the object of study to the offender,then provides new perspectives for research to forgive;secondly,revealing the effect of the same age in forgiveness,and we can make effective use of this effect,improve and restore negative social at mosphere,reduce aggression and help increase pro-social behavior.This research includes three parts: The first research is by changing the different story situation of offender in the age of information,to explore differences in the levels of forgiveness,the old and the young and different ages whether there is the same effect when the offender;The second study start offended by Cyberball experiment paradigm,further discusses the offender to face different age,whether there is the old and the young age effect.The third research back to offend event in my own life,exploring the offensive events have occurred,the participants’ age about the existence of forgiveness event processing effect.The results showed that:(1)The elderly exist own-age effect of the forgiveness,namely:when the elderly in the face of young and old offenders,more willing to forgive those who are similar to their age.(2)Young people do not find the own-age effect of the forgiveness,that is:when young people are confronted with young and old people offenders,there is no own-age effect of the forgiveness.(3)On the whole,the elderly forgiveness level higher than the young.(4)When the offenders are elderly,differences between young people and the elderly forgiveness level significantly,older people are more willing to forgive the elderly than young people;When the offender is young people,there was no significant difference between the young and the elderly.(5)Forgiveness attitude between older adults to young people and the elderly are more severe than young people,a deeper level,There was no significant difference between young people.
