Lei Zhenbang,a famous composer for films in China,is an important figure in the development process of China's ethnic minority films.The film songs he composed have unique national character and are catchy.They gain popular throughout the country and become classic songs.Lei Zhenbang has participated in the production of 31 feature films and 17 documentaries,composed the soundtracks for 84 film TV series and written more than one hundred movie songs.The golden age of his music composing career coincides with the mature stage of the New China "seventeen years" of ethnic films.During this period,Lei Zhenbang composed some movie theme songs and episodes for " Lu Sheng Love Story ","Five Golden Flowers","Liu Sanjie" " Visitors On The Icy Mountain " " Jing Po Gu Niang " and other story spectrums that reflect the life of minorities including Bai,Zhuang,Yi,Lahu,Tajik,Korean and other ethnic minorities.These minority-style son gs he co mp osed no t o n ly g a ined the p ra ise o f Ha n p eop le,b u t a lso won the recognition and love of the minority people.During the Golden Ten years(1955-1965)of the composition of minority-themed film songs,Lei Zhenbang has participated in the composition of totally seven minority film music,including the " Lu Sheng Love Story "in 1957,"Five Golden Flowers" in 1959,“Jin Yu Ji”in 1959,"Liu Sanjie"in1960,"Da Ji and her Father" in 1961," Visitors On The Icy Mountain " in1963 and " Jing Po Gu Niang " in 1965.Besides,he also created the "Vows","Butterfly Spring ",“Folk Songs for Dear Family","Why are These Flowers so Red","Miss Comrade-in-arm" and dozens of other classic film songs.This thesis mainly studies the minority film music composed by Lei Zhenbang.The Introduction part includes the introduction of Lei Zhenbang's life experience,his composing experience,and the current research situation of the film music.Chapter One mainly explores the relationship between the music text of "Vows",the theme song of " Lu Sheng Love Story ",and Lahu music,as well as its relationship with the film.Capter Two probes into the relationship between "Butterfly Spring",the theme song of "Five Golden Flowers" and the corresponding episodes of the film.It aims to explore the relationship between their text and melody and the Bai music and movies.Chapter Three makes an analysis about the music form,melody and the source of the music text,together with their relationship with the movie.Chapter Four focuses on the theme song of "on iceberg guest"-"why the flowers are so red" and its episode to explore the relationship between the music text and the Tajik music and the film.The last chapter focuses on the soundtracks of the movie " Jing Po Gu Niang ","Da Ji and her Father," "“Jin Yu Ji”" and its changes.Because these three films have no corresponding theme songs,they were studied in one chapter.
