A Comparative Study On The Differences Of Landscape Paintings From The Perspective Of Geography

Chinese culture clearly shows regional differences,which are intrinsic and signs of Chinese cultural diversity.Chinese landscape paintings,having evolved over thousands of years,take realistic society and natural landscape as objects.Those who paint landscape paintings from different regional cultural backgrounds have their own ways of expression in terms of subject choosing,artistic language,aesthetic orientation and the use of techniques.Therefore,the regional characteristics play a decisive role in taking shape the style of Chinese landscape paintings and meanwhile,generate a distinctive artistic style in different geographical features and regional culture.Similarly,regional differences play a leading role in the creation of landscape paintings and provide abundant subjects for artists as well.In addition,in the long-term impact of regional culture,landscape paintings of different regions have formed their own unique artistic styles.As China is a country with long history and splendid culture,Chinese living in disparate regions have different feelings towards nature and history,which develop distinctive cultural forms.Landscape paintings construct aesthetic value in aspects of not only inheriting and developing traditional culture and highlighting the individual pursuit of artists,but reflecting the spirit of the times to which regional characteristics are closely related.The thesis adopts the method of comparative analysis to discuss the landscape paintings in Gansu and Guizhou from the perspective of regional and cultural differences.The specific sections of the article are as follows: in the introduction part,the thesis states the significance of the topic,the research status as well as defines relevant concepts;in the first part,it devotes to exploring the relationship between regional characteristics and landscape paintings,namely,the connection between regional culture naturally produced in different regions landscape paintings and then further demonstrates the impact of this link on the creation of landscape paintings;in the second part,it explains the geographical features of Gansu and Guizhou respectively and then discusses the influences of geographical features,history and culture of the two regions on landscape paintings;in the third part,it exemplifies some representative artists whose paintings can fully reflect the regional characteristics of Gansu and Guizhou to compare and analyze their works;in the fourth part,the author interprets the contemporary value of Gansu and Guizhou landscape paintings with the method of comparative analysis.In general,the article,from above four aspects,demonstrates different artistic forms of landscape paintings due to regional characteristics,expected to obtain some inspiration and laws so that people are able to have a better and scientific understanding towards the development of landscape paintings,along with discovering more underlying possibility to expound the effect of regional characteristics on landscape paintings.
