This is a translation report for excerpts from “A Knowledge-based Reliability Engineering Approach to Manage Product Safety and Recalls” written by Dr.Sameer Kumar from the Opus College of Business,University of St.Thomas.According to analysis of the target readers and source text,Skopos Theory is selected to be the theoretical basis of this translation.On the basis of translation,the author provides cases analysis with Skopos Theory as theoretical basis and writes the report.The report is organized as follows.Chapter one describes the task from the aspects of introduction of source text,significance of task,objective of task and target readers.Chapter two describes the translation process involving preparation before translation,translation process proofreading and modification.Chapter three writes about Skopos Theory.Chapter four provides case analysis.Chapter five gives a conclusion.
