Idioms has always consists of fascinating words that were combined with certain structures and grammars.Idioms are considered as one of historical cultures,each proverb represents a different story or allusion.Meanwhile,people can seize the cultural characteristics and ideologies of a nation through their idioms.Therefore,idioms are an essential treasure in Chinese literature.With the constancy of development in China,the numbers of foreigners who learn Chinese language keep increasing.It's inevitable for foreigners to encounter some difficulties while learning Chinese language,such as pronunciation tone,writing Chinese characters,etc.Chinese idiom is one of the hardest lessons to master in Chinese literature.Vietnamese literature has a lot in common compares to Chinese's,therefore Vietnam's students tend to have an advantage throughout the learning progress compares to others,unfortunately no matter where you came from neither western countries nor Vietnam,will encounter difficulties.As a Vietnam native,I consider Chinese Idioms is one of the difficulties that I encountered during my progress on learning Chinese literature.The different types of idioms,varieties,the way to use it on daily basis is inevitably hard to master.The purpose of this paper is to help fellow Vietnam students on learning Chinese,especially on mastering the Chinese idioms.This study will mainly examine several points.Firstly,the author will collect Chinese and Vietnam simile idioms,with the collected simile idioms the author will then classify them by the idioms body,the idioms' metaphor,the idioms' basic analogy,dividing the idioms' metonymy words into 6 different types,which then will be connected accordingly.Secondly,the study is towards Vietnam students on how they use the simile idioms that includes: personal information of the student itself,their knowledge on the difficulties of simile idioms,the importance of simile idioms,the effect between learning time and the understandings of simile idioms,its structures,variety,etc.Thirdly,from the collected data the author will then conclude the problems in Vietnam students,which are: misunderstanding the meaning and metaphor,understanding metonymy words and body because there were some differences and special regulations in Chinese simile idioms.Lastly,there will be conclusions on those problems,which mainly because of the mother tongue of the learners itself,their intercultural differences and the lack of textbooks and teaching skills.Nevertheless,author will provide some advices to outgrow those difficulties.As conclusion,Chinese idioms is one of the most important parts in Chinese literature.By mastering the Chinese idioms not only will the learners improves theirs reading skill,but they will also improves their writing skill.Moreover,they can also improve their speaking skill;In the meantime,by fully understanding the meaning of these Chinese simile idioms and the story behind those idioms can help the Vietnam students to know the specialty of Chinese cultures better.
