Dos Yee dance(Caigetang)is a popular,self-entertaining dance among the Kam Region in the neighboring Hunan and Guizhou area.In its long development it has amalgamate and embraced regions and the folk culture so that the dance has distinct folk features and local charms.Dos Yee dance is an irreplaceable compartment of the Kam traditional culture.Dos Yee dance has its own art feature and has its name from the regions and the folk activities of the Kam culture.It has abundant culture and traditional tints.This is the festival activity to pray for harvest and peace by the means of singing and dancing,and it is also the presentation of enhancing the folk relationship and group agglomeration.Through the researches on Dos Yee dance,while focusing on the dance itself,the author intends to understand its religious and self-entertaining characteristics.Thus we can explorer its usages and presentations of Dos Yee dance in religious rites and folk life.Firstly,the author analyzed how the unique geographic environment and abundant history cultures of Kam region created the natural ecological environment for Dos Yee dance.In addition,based on the dance itself,the author researched the performance forms of Dos Yee dance in order to analyze the basic formalities,dance forms,lyric forms and music forms.Moreover,from the exploration of art features of Dos Yee dance,the author obtained that Dos Yee dance has the narratives of folk cultures,the sacrifices of spirit worships,the performances of singing and dance techniques,the entertainments of people's life,and the heritages of ethnic cultures.At the end,as the spiritual pillar of the Kam folk culture,the author analyzed and explored how to protect its heritages.Dos Yee dance has accomplished its functions of self-entertainments,ethnic agglomeration,pacification of uneasiness.
