The Research Of The Image Narration In Feng ZiKai’s Comics

Feng Zikai’s comics realized the combination of "poetry and painting",it broke the realm of the mystery of the traditional Chinese painting,and pursued the "true" feeling with practical significance,so that his comic works are created with distinctive characteristics of the times and regional atmosphere.He observes the society with a gentle gesture,recording the marketplace of space in the form of space art.In comics,the main function of the image is telling the stories.The text in the comics is the description and supplement of the image,making the meaning of the image more clearly.Combine the image and text,the entire narrative process will complete.This paper will take the Feng Zikai’s cartoon as the object of study,from the perspective of image narrative,and analyses how Feng Zikai use the form of cartoons to complete the narrative process? What kind of narrative pattern his comic book have?The first chapter is a brief overview of the birth,classify,and characteristics of Feng Zikai’s cartoons.The birth of Zikai comics is closely related to his talent and his life experiences.His comics are diverse and are not limited to one certain class of subjects,such as children’s comics,old comic books,religious comics,social comics and narrative illustrations,and some news comics.Feng Zikai combines the characteristics of Chinese and Western painting,forming his unique comic features: the form of simple ink,the contents with deep meaning;his pursuits of art for the concept of life,that art comes from the real life and should reflect the real life.The second chapter of this paper analyzes Feng Zikai’s cartoons from the text of the image narration.The first section analyzes the landscape in his comics.The author will mainly focus on the analysis of the cartoon depicted in Shanghai urban culture and mountain countryside scene.Compare the different scenes,people will know that Feng ZiKai’s attitude towards urban culture and rural culture is different.The second section of this chapter will mainly analyze the test expression in the comics.Image and text as an integral part of visual culture,both have their advantages and disadvantages innarration.In Feng Zikai’s comic books,the main form of the text is painting title and the attachment.Painting title plays the role of explanation and expression of the title,and the attachment is to explain and limit the screen.This section will also analyze Feng Zikai’s drawing title in English.Through the analysis,the author will emphasize the importance of the characters in comics.Without the expression of the words,some images will not be able to complete the mission of narration.The third section analyzes the typical characters in Feng Zikai ’s cartoons.For example,children and women in the rural areas.Feng Zikai loves children and advocates the innocence,with much ink to describe them.In this study,the author finds that the children in his comics are not a single image.From the early depiction of children’s innocence to the outbreak of war,the change of the children’s ideas,shaping the image of children with suffering.Feng ZiKai life of society is still male and female woven traditional family structure.The rural women are serious about the image of hardworking and simple family women.The third chapter starts from the essence of image narration and analyzes the narrative pattern and narrative technique which applied in Feng Zikai’s cartoon.The narrative is a linear development process.While the image is space art,if people want to achieve the purpose of narrative,they must reflect the movement of the event,re-included in the process of time.Feng ZiKai’s comic narrative model is not a single model,its model involving the single image narrative and panoramic narrative model.In the single image,there are two kinds of cartoon narrative patterns: the first one is a single narration,which is in the image capturing the most wonderful moment in the development of the events,implying the cause and effect of the events in order to achieve the purpose of narration.The second one is outlined the narration,that is,comprehensive narration,to achieve time juxtaposition and scene juxtaposition,and it can expand the timeliness and enhance the comic narration.Feng Zikai also has some combination cartoons.The narrative model is different from the single image,which using the panoramic narrative model.Also,this chapter will describe the narrative techniques of Feng Zikai’s comics from four aspects: metaphorical narrative,action demonstration,perspective guidance and scene symbolization.
