| With the Anti-Japanese War breaking out in 1937,a large number of intellectuals from the pre war cultural central cities Beijing,Shanghai fled to the southwestern cities Kunming,Guilin,Chengdu and so on.At this time,numerous intellectuals,including Literati writers converged to Chongqing,which is regarded as the "capital" status.At the same time,another city "Yanan" also greatly attracted intellectuals to come,especially during the peak period 1938 —1939.Among these intellectuals,most were from Chongqing.As a female writer,Chen Xuezhao was a typical example.Because she was not only from Chongqing but also the sole female doctor who came to Yanan.Its peculiarity is easy to be imagined.Besides,for her life in Chongqing and Yanan,Chen Xuezhao had her own feelings and writings,which deeply affected her choice as well.She initially left Chongqing for Yanan and then return to Chongqing and finally back to Yanan.This not only resulted from personal factors,but also closely related to the different political,economical and cultural opinions with Kuomingtang‘s and the Communist Party's.However,the deeper element existed in the effects of the political system.Chen Xuezhao,as a woman intellectual,realised this system profoundly.Actually,except her,numbers of intellectuals left Chongqing for Yanan and finally stayed there because of their approval of the Communist Party's system.So,through the choice of Chen to come to Yanan,especially the second decision to return Yanan,it proved up to the hilt that there existed the relationship between the intellectuals and the political system and the intellectuals' struggling mental activities under the war.This essay is divided into three parts: Introduction,Main Body and Conclusion.The introduction mainly includes two aspects:one is the value and significance of the topic,the other is the combing of the present situation.The main body is divided into five chapters:Chapter1,as a whole,it tells the experience that the intellectuals fled after the anti-Japanese war breaking out.While the auxiliary capital Chongqing became their initial choice.especially the runaway and life experience in Chongqing of woman intellectual Chen Xuezhao,It reveals the intellectuals' common trouble during the war,Chapter2,first of all,it expounds the phenomenon that the intellectuals chose to go to Yanan one after another,and their life experience in the “Utopia” after they reached Yanan.On the other hand,through the life experience and writings of Chen Xuezhao,it makes people know Yanan more comprehensively and objectively.Chapter3,this chapter mainly describes the choice of the intellectuals coming and leaving Chongqing and Yanan.especially analyzing of the road to Yanan of Chen Xuezhao,It has personal reason.More importantly,it was affected by the different political,economical and culcural environment between Koumintang and Communist Party.Chapter4,this chapter mainly expounds the life experiences of the female intellectuals after arrival in Yanan,including the happy time in “paradise” and the helpless choices and dilemma.A Visit to Yanan written by Chen Xuezhao expressed the common thoughts in female's writings---the female liberation.Chapter5,on the one hand,it reveals the relationship between literati writers and political system,between intellectuals and politics by analyzing Chen's choice to come to Yanan and female's and even intellectuals choices for life.On the other hand,writers became the graphers of Yanan system without exception after rectification movement.Chen xuezhao actively merge in Yanan literature and art for her creative idea,Literary theme,content and style changed greatly.Epilogue part sums up the full text.It analyzes the choices of these intellectuals who left Chongqing for Yanan,setting Chen as the main investigation object,and reveals the importance of political system for intellectuals.So,as a female individual,Chen's choice for life is also the epitome of a generation of intellectuals' choices.And Yanan becomes the “starting point” that they cannot walk out. |
