Study On Lefebvre’s Late Spatial Culture Theory And Influence

The research object of this thesis is Henri Lefebvre’s late spatial culture theory and its influence,in which the spatial theory includes not only Lefebvre’s studies on “the production of space”,but also Lefebvre resort to the rhythm analysis to grasp time in his later years.Secondly,Due to Lefebvre’s theory is highly revolutionary and humanitarian,the paper will also focuses on the pathways and possibilities of liberation for “total man” in his theoretical framework,Finally,based on the long-term influence of Lefebvre’s theory,from a postmodern perspective,the innovative development of“space” and the new resources provided by this discourse for our interpretation of current social theory would also be my concern in this paper.Firstly,it looked for Lefebvre’s spatial theory root in the view of occurrence,examined the historical background and theretical origin,restored its original appearance by the thought of Pedigree,analyzed the theoretical logic and main structure of “th Production of Space" by the view of theoretical forms,investigated the internal evolution of “the production of space”: from “natural space” to “social space”,from“production in space” to “the production of space”,from “concrete space” to “abstract space”.The space has become a kind of means of production,a consumer object,a powerful political tool,and the field of alienation,alienated abstract space has become the late capitalist culture and social existence logic.Secondly,it explored Lefebvre’s revolutionary utopia from the different space and the rhythm of daily life at the micro level based on the philosophy of human survival.Since the original poetic concrete space under the influence of alienation for the abstract space,then to change the homogenization,fragmentation,hierarchical spatial form,Lefebvre resort to the poetic "cultural revolution" and "body resistance ",the good hope in the aesthetic sense of the cultural and artistic utopia,achieve the poetic art revolution.Finally,it discussed the profound academic significance implied by Lefebvre’s space theory.It is not only the inheritance and supplement of Marx’s theory of social criticism,but also the contemporary appearance of space critical theory field,which greatly enriches post-modern research content.By Jameson’s "super space" and"cognitive mapping”,Harvey’s space-time compression mechanism,Soya’s "third space",the paper discussed the influence of Lefebvre’s theory on the postmodern social critical theory;by the "landscape society" of Debo,"consumer society" and "simulationsociety" of Baudrillard,"mobile space" of Custer,the paper analyzed the deep influence of Lefebvre’s theory on the postmodern media theory.Finally,indicated Lefebvre’s theory is the source and "mother of thought" of the development of postmodern theory.
