CRIPPLED AMERICA-HOW TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN is a book written by the new-elected President of America-Donald Trump and was published in Nov.2015.And this book paved the way for Trump's campaign.In this book,Trump analyzed the current problems in all aspects of American society,which mainly includes the US media,diplomacy,immigration,economy,medical and other fields.Meanwhile,he proposed many plans and solutions.The only purpose of doing all these things is to make the crippled America great again.In this translation report,some typical translation problems and techniques are analyzed.The report is divided into 5 parts.Chapter One is an introduction to the project,project objective and this report's structure.Chapter Two is the task description.Chapter Three is the translation theories,in which Peter Newmark's semantic translation & communicative translation strategies are explained in details.Chapter Four,as the most important part of this report,illustrates translation problems and techniques.The main translation problems lie in translating expressions with cultural background,reproducing the original language style and meeting readers' reading habit.Chapter Five concludes the translation experience gained from this project and the flaws of this translated version.
