A Report On Translation Of U.S. DOE Geothermal Tomorrow (Excerpt)

This is a report on the translation of the DOE Geothermal Tomorrow.Geothermal Tomorrow is issued by the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Office U.S.DOE and mainly introduces GTP vision and mission,EGS,National Laboratory activities,price of geothermal power,state geothermal policies and international efforts.There are four parts in this translation report.In the first part,the author introduces the background,target readers and significance of translation for the material.The second part is process description,which includes pre-translation preparations of text analysis,the selection of translation tools,Skopos theory and proofreading and modification.The third part is the core of this report.Under the guidance of Skopos theory,great efforts are made to analyze the key points and difficulties in translation through cases analysis.At last,the author draws a conclusion and offers some effective solutions from this translation practice.
