Mei Ziqiang And The Localization Of Science And Technology In The Field Of Chinese Cotton Textile

Mei Ziqiang was an expert in the filed of Chinese textile engineering and also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.He was also a founder and academic leader in theory and practice of high production carding.In Mei Ziqiang's early years,he studied abroad in Textile Institute in Soviet Moscow.He successfully developed four kinds of new carding machines on the basis of foreign advanced science and technology as well as Chinese reality.Besides four machines,A186 high production carding machines reached the international advanced level at that time.In Mei Ziqiang's whole life,he was devoted to the localization of science and technology in cotton textile industry and made outstanding contributions,which played an important role in the history of Science and technology in Chinese cotton textile.Mei Ziqiang treated scholarship rigorously and persistently,worked seriously and responsibly,lived a simple life and cared for young people very much.Mei Ziqiang's upbringing,life experiences,academic thoughts,academic attitude,achievements and so on are worthy of our research.However,no scholars have done a careful study about Mei Ziqiang.Available data were mostly discussed the life stories of Mei Ziqiang from the macro and the whole point of view.This paper discusses Mei Ziqiang's contribution on localization of science and technology in the field of cotton textile,including material form,system form and thinking form,which on the basis of studying 65 works,published by Mei Ziqiang and using literature research and comparative analysis of research method.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction.It first does a comprehensive introduction for Mei Ziqiang's life,which is the basis of the research.Then it introduces the basis and significance of the topic,research situation at home and abroad,research methods and data sources and also the goal and the innovation of the research.The second part relates to Mei Ziqiang's localization works on material level and elaborated his contribution on cotton textile machinery.This part mainly takes the development of high-production carding machine and yarn evenness tester as two examples,which focuses on Mei Ziqiang's important role on localization of cotton textile machinery.The third part involves localization of thought and work on the system level.This part regards raw material and machinery as two clues,arranging Mei Ziqiang's works on development of raw material and machinery in chronological order,andconcluding his point upon current situation.This part also sorts out Mei Ziqiang's requirement about cotton textile enterprises.Above data highlight Mei Ziqiang's ideas about localization of management system in cotton textile technology.The fourth part is about Mei Ziqiang's localization on thinking level,which is the most fundamental aspect of localization in science and technology.Mei Ziqiang served as vice dean and dean of the Chinese Textile Science Research Institute,which have done a lot of work on personnel training and scientific research organization.This part discusses Mei Ziqiang's opinion about personnel training and activities,which he organized and attended,as well as his achievements about translation and compilation of textile science and technology books.The fifth part is a conclusion.It explores the reason why Mei Ziqiang obtains great scientific contribution and analyzes his scientific attitude and scientific method thoroughly.This part also counts citation of Mei Ziqiang's opinions and discusses how these opinions are accepted by government or factories,which tries to demonstrate Mei Ziqiang's huge role in the development of cotton textile industry.This paper hackles Mei Ziqiang's scientific activities and contribution on localization of science and technology in cotton textile,through collection and study of Mei Ziqiang's papers and books about science and technology of cotton textile technology.This paper also tries to discuss Mei Ziqiang's status and contribution in the field of New China cotton textile industry,which regards his pioneering work being a solid foundation for science and technology of Chinese cotton textile.At the same time,people who work in textile industry can learn from Mei Ziqiang's scientific attitude and scientific method,which can be used for reference and inspiration.
