Based on the analysis of James O'Connor 's masterpiece Natural Causes:Essays in Ecological Marxism,this article explores and criticizes O'Connor' s ecological Marxist thought.First of all,this article analyzes O'Connor's introduction of the "natural" and "cultural" clues,and then put forward his unique "natural,social labor,culture," the concept of the Trinity,opened the historical material ecology perspective.Secondly,the article analyzes and criticizes O'Connor's social reality that the first contradiction of capitalism and the second contradiction coexist on the basis of the ecological criticism of capitalism,and the dual crisis of economic crisis and ecological crisis put forward The "Double Crisis" Theory of Capitalist Society.Finally,this paper analyzes and criticizes O'Connor's conception of ecological socialism based on productive justice and affirms some rationality of his theory of ecological socialism.Although O'Connor's ecology of Marxist thought has such a tendency to deviate from the classical Marxist theory,too much emphasis on the ecological crisis and other limitations and limitations,but his ideas represent the contemporary Western Marxist ecological theory,but also for our inheritance and development Marxist theory provides a new perspective.
