Report On The Translation Of Business Forecasting: Practical Problems And Solutions (Excerpt)

This report is based on C hapter 4.7,4.8 and 4.9 of Business Forecasting: Practical Problems and Solutions.Under the guidance of Peter Newmark 's theories of semantic translation and communicative translation,this report takes the translation practice as a case to discuss the appropriate translation skills during the process o f business English translation.The report consists of five parts.Part one is the introduction of the translation project,including the project background,project profile and project analysis.Part two is the description of translation process,which covers preparations,translation process and posttranslating jobs.Part three is mainly about Newmark's translation theories involving the textual function and classification as well as the semantic translation and communicative translation.Based on Newmark's theories,the strategies of semantic and communicative translation theories are adopted during the translation process.Part four lists some case analyses and analyzes the application of translation skills from the perspective of vocabulary and syntax.Part five draws a conclusion and describes the problems as well as solutions during translation process,and a self-reflection on the whole translation practice is made so as to gain some helpful experience for the future.
