The Realism Study In Murals Of Hou Yimin

Hou Yimin is a very influential and respected muralist in Chinese modern artistic circle.By respecting people's feelings and true history,he has established a realistic style.His rich mural language contains almost all categories of art,including Chinese painting,oil painting,ceramics,wool weaving,wall sculpture and etc.and so undoubtedly he is considered as a very creative muralist.The realistic style in the creation of Hou Yimin's mural is discussed from four aspects in the paper.The first part is briefly analyzed the current situation and major contents,the second part is described the evolution of Hou Yimin's painting and the origin of his realistic style,the third part is analyzed the authenticity,typicality and expression diversity in some Hou Yimin's works,such as “Ode to Anti-earthquake spirit”,“Living Great-wall” and other works as well as the social function of the realism style deeply hidden in the his murals.The part discusses the social function in his realist murals.The fourth part is studied the spiritual quality of the realistic works of his own,and is emphasized the influence of his works on the contemporary murals.By combination of index and investigation and according to true expression,comprehensive research was executed on Mr.Hou Yimin's murals besides the artistic language and the realist way.In order to do a better research,and to visit the professor Hou Yimin house in May 2016.And so it's concluded that Hou Yimin never gives up the realistic murals,and advocates realism in his life.He is considered as a good defender of realistic mural.Meanwhile,Hou's murals,with the real contents and unique language,profoundly impress people,and even inspire and astound people,which,in return,encourage them.
