Study On The Status Quo Of Sexual Health Knowledge Level And Sexual Attitudes Of Female Vocational Nursing Students And The Relations Between The Two Aspects

Sexual health problems of adolescents have long been a hot issue of the society.In recent years,under the influence of new media information and various kinds of films and television programs,the sexual concept of adolescents in our country is undergoing profound changes.A series of problems caused by sex have become a significant risk factor endangering the health of adolescents.In the past,the studies on sexual health problems of adolescents have mainly focused on the status quo of their sexual knowledge,sexual concept and sexual behaviors.Besides,Researches on these aspects of sexual psychology are usually conducted separately.The exploration of the relations among them is relatively rare.Also,attention has mostly been given to college students and ordinary high school students,little has been given to secondary vocational school students,especially the group of female nursing students of vocational health school.As a major source of clinical first-line care workers,sexual health level of female vocational nursing students is not only related to their physical and mental health,but also has a direct and far-reaching impact on the nursing objects.Therefore,it is necessary to study the status quo of their sexual health knowledge and sexual attitudes as well as the relations between these two aspects.In this study,574 female nursing students of Yuxi Health School in Yunnan Province were selected as research objects,using self-making sexual health knowledge questionnaire and revised sexual attitude questionnaire(compiled by Zhao Ke)as research tool,the status quo of their sexual health knowledge and sexual attitudes as well as the relations between the two aspects are explored by means of various statistical methods from different analysis perspectives.Research conclusions are as following.1.The average awareness rate of female nursing students' sexual health knowledge was 66.6%.Grade,nationality,family location and their mother's degree of education had significant influence on their knowledge level of sexual health on one or more plates.2.Female vocational nursing students performed positively in emotional and sexual needs attitudinal tendency and avoidance attitudinal tendency where as they performed negatively in the open sexual attitudinal tendency.Grade,family location,father's degree of education had significant influence on their sexual attitudes on one or more dimensions.3.There are significant correlations between sexual health knowledge and sexual attitudes of female nursing students.The five aspects of sexual health knowledge are closely related to one another,especially contraception,abortion and AIDS;Knowledge of sex,adolescent health,contraception and miscarriage have positive predictive effects on emotional and sexual needs attitudinal tendency.Adolescent health knowledge has a positive predictive effect on open sexual attitudinal tendency.Knowledge of sexually transmitted diseases has a negative predictive effect on open sexual attitudinal tendency.Knowledge of contraception and miscarriage have positive predictive effects on avoidance attitudinal tendency.Based on the survey results,it is suggested that the school set up a special health education course in line with the actual needs of the female nursing students,equip professional teachers,Strengthen the classification of students guidance,increase parents engagement,and carry out all-around sex education scientifically and systematically,thus to promote sexual health knowledge level of female nursing students and cultivate their healthy sexual attitude at the same time.
