The Study On The Material That Zhengxuan Relating A Character In Annotation To Another Character In Text In ZhouLiZhu

The experts have done a lot of studies on the relation of Chinese characters through the ages,which to be shed light on that it is not only the responsibility of the philology and exegetics but also the indispensable reference for scientific studies of the relation of Chinese characters.So in this dissertation we give a thorough reorganization and study to the material that ZhengXuan relating a character in annotation to another character in text in ZhouLiZhu in Eastern Han Dynasty and made a preliminary analysis to this study in that time when is the primary stage of studies on the relation of Chinese characters,taking as theoretical guide the theories holding that the Chinese characters is a system,and using microcomputer as technological guide,and using as methodological guide the systematic analysis,full investigation,and the comprehensive examination.And we gain the goals as follow:1.We select 674 pieces of material to form a language data that ZhengXuan relating a character in annotation to another character in text in ZhouLiZhu or that related which is selected from the notes and commentaries of the thirteen classics of Confucianism,base on which we can achieve a deeper understanding.2.Analysis 11 types of terms for the relation of Chinese characters from ZhengXuan's exegetic terms from two angles:A.General terms:(1)DuRu(part)(2)DuWei(part)(3)DuYue(4)Zhi Yan(part)(5)Dang Wei or DangZuo(6)JiaJieZi(7)ZiZhiWu(8)ShengZhiWu(9)ShengXiangSi(10)other typesB.Diachronic terms:*A term be used to relate one character to another character in earlier period3.Analysis the function and origin of ZhengXuan's terms for the relation of Chinese characters.4.Conclude that ZhengXuan has epitomized the studies on the relation of'Chinese characters previously from material to terms and methods,and has possessed some theoretical consciousness and formed a preliminary terminology system on the studies in this aspect.At last the dissertation gives some proposals to the terminological and theoretical construction of the relation of Chinese characters.
