The Current Situation Investigation About Wuhan City Children’s Latin Dance Institution

With the 12th "Five-year Sports’ Development Plan" issued by the Sports General Administration of Sport, many spots departments and social forces at all levels pay more attention to the sports needs of children and vigorously generalize children’s fitness activities to promote the integrated development of their physical and mental health.Therefore,the number of the training institutions in our country is increasing,among which the institutions for training children’s Latin dance stand out. Latin, a competitive sport derived from abroad, is one of sports dances, combined sports and arts together to be admired in one of the ornamental sport. After being brought in our country,it develops rapidly and has been widely loved by children. Wuhan, as the capital of Hubei province,has a great potential to become the center market for children’s Latin dance training because of its good geographical position and superior economic conditions.In order to have a better understand of the status quo as well as problems of children’s Latin dance training institutions in Wuhan, and put forward effective measures to solve some specific problems, this paper investigates the basic situation, the situation of teaching management and operating management of children’s Latin dance training institutions in Wuhan by means of literature, questionnaire, field investigation, interview and other scientific methods. The results are concluded as follows:(1) The urban distribution of children’s Latin dance training institutions in Wuhan is uneven: the distribution in the main urban areas is more intensive, but the distribution far from the city is relatively sparse. The scale of them is generally small, and the sites are mainly around the school, residential areas or commercial areas. The over-concentrated distribution makes greater competitiveness and pressure happened among the institutions.(2) The proportion of children’ sex is serious imbalanced—more girls and fewer boys; The age of the trained children mainly focuses between 6-8 years old, among whom the first learner would be around 4 years old, being trained for 1-2 years or below;the motivations are various, mainly to strengthen physical fitness, to bring up a hobby or to satisfy school-based needs.(3) The proportion of coaches’ sex is serious imbalanced—more females and fewer males; coaches tend to be younger and primarily keep the work part-timely. They, whose technical level is generally low, have few chances to participate in training sessions or competitions.(4) The curriculum of children’s Latin dance training institutions in Wuhan is not perfect. The choice of teaching content is based on the combination of dance, while ignoring the physical quality and basic skills of teaching. Teaching methods are too traditional and single. Parents are less satisfied with the coaches’ attitudes towards teaching.(5) The management of children’s Latin dance training institutions in Wuhan City is still in a preliminary stage of exploration. In the marketing strategy, the marketing strategy is more single, brand awareness is not strong. In the training services, the charges are unreasonable, the overall sense of service is not strong, and parent’s satisfaction is low.Based on the above questions, the author makes the following recommendations:(1) Children Latin dance training institutions should achieve large-scale, branding and industrial development,combine teachers,venues and funds together to realize large-scale operations or chain operations to establish their own brand.(2) Attention should be paid to the construction of coaches. On the one hand,coaches should continue to enhance their abilities; On the other hand, the relevant departments should strictly check the qualifications of coaches, and improve the overall level of coaches.(3) Unify Latin dance training outline, improve the teaching content, and enrich the teaching means and methods.(4) The training institutions should improve the organization management system,achieve professional management, innovative marketing strategies and improve service awareness;(5) To seek help from national government and policy support; the competent authorities should also try to provide supporting policy in credit and tax to children’s Latin dance training institutions, attract active investment to expand the scale of Latin dance training institutions is also an effective-way.
