With the steady development of China’s economy and the deepening of opening to the outside world in recent years,all kinds of industries have benefited from the economic globalization.The ancient culture of China has attracted more and more foreign tourists,and the number of foreign tourists in China has been increasing year by year.Therefore,the translation of tour guide presentation is becoming more and more important.Translation of tour guide presentation is not only a medium to convey the Chinese culture and introduce beautiful scenery,but also an important tool to attract foreign tourists.This thesis is a study on the C-E translation of tour guide presentation.The material is Daxiong Mountain tour guide presentation,covering more than 13000 words.The material comprehensively introduces the beautiful scenery,scenic spots and historical sites in Daxiong Mountain which can help visitors to access to the corresponding cultural information while enjoying the beautiful scenery.This translation practice report firstly introduces the background,content and significance of the task,and analyzes the characteristics of the text.As a special kind of tourism text,the tour guide presentation text has its special nature: colloquial and sense of the scene,which is also a difficulty that the translator needs to solve during the translation process.However,due to the great differences between Chinese and western cultures,the translation of cultural loaded words involved in the text should be solved.Based on the analysis of text and the current research status of text translation,the translator takes Relevance Theory as the guiding theory of translation practice.In the translation of the original text,the translator tries to achieve the optimal relevance between the intention of the original text and the tourists’ expectations.The translator adopts different methods to solve the problems encountered during the translation of tour guide presentation.The translator summarizes the experience and deficiencies in translation.This paper presents a feasible method for translation of tour guide presentation. |
