With the development of science and technology,social media has gradually become the dominant discourse.Philanthropy and social media have broad areas of cooperation and development.Wang Xiuli,working at The Center for Social Media Reaserch of Peking University as an associate professor,wrote the book Cases and Best Practices of Social Media for Social Good.This book objectively discusses the relationship between social media and philanthropy development,and introduces the resources and characteristics of Chinese social media related products and usage methods,and aims to deliver the latest information of social media and philanthropy development to the readers for global information and communication.The author selects the fourth and seventh chapters of Cases and Best Practices of Social Media for Social Good as the translation materials,hoping to provide a positive reference for related material papers in the future and communibating the concept of philanthropy to more people.Under the guidance of the "communicative translation",this roport analyzes the difficulties in the translation process from three aspects: technical terms,run-on sentences and symmetric structure,and explores the translation skills and translation strategies of this text type.This report covers five parts.First of all,it introduces the background,significance and purpose of this report.The second part introduces and analyses the original text.The third part covers an overview of the translation progress.The fourth part is the most import part.This part focuses on the translation of the terminology.The translation strategies applied in this report includes literal translation,free translation,division,inversion,etc.The final part is a reflection of the entire translation project.At present,there are few studies on the translation of philanthropy texts in China,and it mainly focuses on translation studies of public service advertisements.Therefore,the translation of this text has some practical significance.
