After the reform and opening-up policy, by the influence of the state policy and the"Humanistic Buddhism", Buddhism gradually shifts from "out-world" to "into-world". Its doctrine (philosophy, world outlook, view of life and values) has been changed greatly. At the same time, the way of faith practices of Buddhists has been changed. There are two ways of faith practices to exist at the same time, including individual and group faith practices. The social transition brought many changes. Many people fall into the abyss of busy tension and anxiety. People cannot know them, and cannot do self-examination, leading the self-identity crisis to appear to some extent. This article takes Harbin city as an example, and the social transition period and the change of the Buddhism as the background. This article uses methods of the non-participant observation and half structure interview. Through study,we find that Buddhist can construct self-identification by two faith practical ways (individual and group) with the aid of the Buddhism through three aspects: Buddhism can give social identity of "Buddhists" and framework of behavior to Buddhists, and help them play the corresponding social role; The value concept of Buddhism provides Buddhists with framework of self-reflection to ensure the true reflection of Buddhists and maintain self-integrity of Buddhists; Buddhists can increase social interaction and build trust in others and the society by taking part in activities, and get a sense of belonging and presence in the community, and reconstruct self-identity to adapt to the rapid development of society.
