Empathy capability refers to that the individuals can be considerate to recognize,understand and handle the emotion statuses of others thus to generate consistent emotion experience and behavior response,which is an important social motivational factor to maintain the positive interpersonal relationship.The university students is the important power to promote the social development,their empathy capabilities are not only related to the interpersonal relationship in campus and physical and psychological health directly but also has a profound and positive influence on the future work,family and even life happiness.The paper,based on the Chinese edition of Interpersonal Response Guideline modified by Wu Jingji and Comprehensive Diagnosis Scale on Interpersonal Relationship formulated by Zheng Richang,conducts survey on 638 university students in one university of Nanchang,select the typical cases for interview,explores the relationship and functional mechanism of interpersonal relationship.The results are as follows:1.The overall level of empathy capabilities of the university students is above average(M=2.45,Likert five-level scoring of 0-4),there exists with a significant difference in gender,major,whether the class leader or not,whether the only child or not,the education background of the parents,family economic status and family education mode;the detectable rate of the interpersonal disturbance of the university students is 57.5% and the whole situation is ordinary(M=9.854,partial to moderate disturbance),there exists with a significant difference in gender,grade,homeplace,whether the class leader or not,whether the only child or not,family economic status and family education mode.The empathy capabilities of the university students has a significant negative correlation with interpersonal relationship,the individuals with strong empathy capabilities are easier to establish and maintain harmonious interpersonal relationship;The empathy capabilities of the university students can significantly predict the interpersonal relationship,the opinion choice,imagination,sympathy and care can make a negative prediction on the interpersonal relationship;the personal pain can make a positive prediction on theinterpersonal relationship.2.According to PT dimension of IRI-C to measure the cognitive process and FS?EC?PD dimension to measure the emotional process,University students' empathy can be divided into four types.there is a ignificant difference in the types of empathy on interpersonal relationship.3.The Empathy composed of both the emotional process and the cognitive process,the interaction between which promotes the university students' Interpersonal Relationship,while the unbalance of which can destory the university students' Interpersonal Relationship,This is the interaction mechanism of University students' empathy on the interpersonal relationship.4.The factors influencing the empathy capabilities of the university students include the gender,recognition capability,personal characteristics,intimacy with others,attributional style,parental rearing pattern and so on.The promotion of the empathy capabilities of the university students can be realized through training on“correct empathy” skills,cultivation of positive psychological traits,ideological and political education as well as psychological health education.Conclusion: the empathy capabilities of the university students can directly affect the quality of interpersonal quality;The factors influencing the empathy capabilities of the university students include the gender,recognition capability,personal characteristics,intimacy with others,attributional style and parental rearing pattern?...
