The Relationship Between Social Support And Job Seeking:the Mediation Of Coping Style And Future Work Self

Job seeking is the first step on the road of work,it has also been the concern of many researchers,it is not difficult to understand that job search behavior by many factors.Social support is not an unfamiliar vocabulary to us,it’s often used in the study of life satisfaction,happiness or the job seeking,the influence of social support on job seeking has been verified,however,the path maybe influenced by other factors,different scholars have conducted corresponding research and proposed his own view.Coping style,especially positive coping style is very helpful to draw more social support,social support condition will also affects individual’s coping style,coping style affects the individual’s behavior under the stress scenarios.The emergence of future work self has made a new explanation to individual job seeking.Both domestic and overseas’ study about the future work self are relatively rare,and most of the study focus on theoretical discussion,empirical research is more rare.Future work self came from possible self,what should be pointed out is future work self point to the individual’s future,and focused on the positive possible self that the individual desire to have.Whether social support through coping style and future work self in turns work on the individual’s job seeking,that is problem the study try to solve.This research will study the role of future work self and coping style in the influence of social support on job seeking,and try to make a new explanation for individual’s job seeking.We would using questionnaire method to finish data collection work,the subjects are coming from Kaifeng,Beijing,Harbin and other places,all of them are graduate students.After statistical analysis such as structural equation model we get the following conclusions:(1)The study variables have demographic differences;(2)Social support,job seeking,coping style,and the future work self exists significant correlation;(3)Social support behavior has a positive role for job seeking;(4)Positive coping style and future work self play mediator role in the relationship between social support and job seeking.In the last part of the article,we analyzed the results of this study,and discussed the shortcomings and enlightenment from the study...
