| There are two thousands of examples about Dixun(递训)in"shuowen Jiezi"(《说文解字》)(hereafter this text will be abbreviated as"shuowen"(说文)),which accounted for a large proportion.It plays an important role in the study of ancient Chinese.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a detailed and comprehensive analysis and research.This paper firstly makes a definition and classification of"Shuowen"Dixun.From the perspective of individual meaning and multiple meanings analysis the relationship of word meaning.The single meaning relationship can be divided into three situations:Firstly,explaining word and explained word is synonym;Secondly,explaining word and explained word is the relationship between dialect and dialect or mandarin and dialect;Thirdly,explaining word and explained word is the relationship between whole and part.Multiple semantic relations can be divided into two situations:Firstly,a word which is explaining word and explained word has two meanings in the chain of Dixun(递训);Secondly,there are some special words phenomenon such as ancient and modern words,interchangeable words and paronyms.It is quite error prone,when explains the meaning of the word."Shuowen"(说文)Dixun(递训)has important value in contact synonyms and the construction of ancient meaning system. |
