Identity Through "Other" Writing:Indian-british Writers Of The Man Booker Prize Winning Works Research

In today’s era of cultural communication,immigrant groups as the main body of cultural,political and economic exchangers between the East and the West,their problems in the development process are also attracting attention.Since the establishment of the Man Booker Prize,a number of immigrant writers have won the award depending on their works.Among them,five Indian-British writers,such as V.S Naipaul,Salman Rushdie,Arundhati Roy,Kilan Desai,Aravind Adiga,are eye-catching by people.They have the experience of growing in the first world country The UK,which their home country is India,the third world country.For the five Indian-born British writers,they have an oriental background are not consciously alienated from their home country’s Indian and Indian culture,but they can not fully integrate into the culture of the West in their growth land.The themes of their creation are manifested in the manifestation of identity chaos and the reflections that have arisen,and thus have received the attention of the literary world.Based on the "Other" theory,this paper analyzes the winning works and explores the game and entanglement of "Other" and "Self" under the context of globalization,and then unearthed the writers how to place and understand the connotation for the "Identity" in the present.This paper is divided into four parts.The introduction part introduces the award winning works of the five writers,analyzes the studies of five winning works in China and abroad.Then the purpose and significance of this paper are sorted out,and combing the development concept of "Other".The second part,the first chapter of the paper,analyzes the performance of the characters in the face of the new environment.The characters in the works can not determine their own roots,so they lose the power of words,this is the authors’ expression of the "Other" existence and the plight of the concrete presentation;with the evolution and development of time,each writer is experiencing the time change in the confused show,which are also the existence of the "Other" predicament and confusion expression.The second chapter is a further explanation of the first chapter,that is,where the roots and the resulting aphasia state,the writers in the works how to solve and reflect.Through the exploration of the roots and the positive expression of the discourse,these writers show their attempt in the"Other" cultural identity construction.The third chapter explores the reflection of "Self and Other" relationship,and then presents the ideas and thoughts of the writers’ construction of identity.With the line of the dilemma of the "Other",the construction of the identity of the“Other",the identity of the;"other",this paper reflects the identity of the clues,analyzes the pursuit and thinking identity of the Indian-British award-winning writers group.With a view of interpreting and understanding the proposition of "Self and Other" relationship,we can have a conclusion,that is,the "Self and the Other" is not a confrontation,but an entangled pluralism.Only in this context,people’s understanding of identity can be derived from the digestion and oblivion of past identity,or the reorganization and re-experience,in order to obtain the possibility.
