Note On Liao Xingzhi Xing Zhai Literary Works

Liao Xingzhi was a Ci poet of South Song Dynasty in Hengyang,Hunan.He cherished virtue,learnt and mastered economics,and had many achievements in his whole life.In addition,he maintained a good relationship with some Nan-xuan' scholars,such as Song Gang-zhong,Song Wen-zhong and Zhou Yun-sheng.In his political career,he was concerned about his country and people,which won him great love and respect from the people.Meanwhile,he was appreciated by Hengzhou's secretary Liu Qing-zhi.He wrote the"Hengzhou tu zhi" under highly recommendation by Liu Qing-zhi,but it's regretful that it had no editions left now.He spent all the remuneration from "Hengzhou to zhi" draft in renovating "Shi Gu" college,and he wrote "Shi Gu college Tian Ji" for this college at the invitation from principal Dai xi,what' more,he clarified the "Shi Gu" college history,and overall planned "Shi Gu" college study field.The life attitude of "though can't being famous in the future,there will be not to revile me also" was insisted by Liao Xing-zhi,and he has his own political and educational idea.Under his education,his son Liao Qian was the first one to be called Zhu Xi's scholars,thus,he and his son also became a memorable stories of Hengyang at that time.His anthology "Xing Zhai corpus" existed largely now,but the superior ones were very rare,and the anthology included many mediocre literature of poetry,text and Ci.Because of his neo-confucianism background in the song dynasty,philosophy was much discussed in his literature,and there were also numerous works reflecting his patriotism and the attitude of life with "put up with poverty and enjoying episteme".This paper studied the ideological content and artistic characteristics of his "Xing zhai corpus" systematically combined with the background of Liao Xing-zhi era backgrounds.The ideological characteristics,friend relationships and the relationships with the Hunan academic group were further discussed too.It's aimed to understand the development situation of Hunan literature at that time,which can help to fully grasp the style characteristic of Liao Xing-zhi,further exploring literary intelligentsia's overall mental outlook in the southern song dynasty.This paper is divided into two parts.The first part,the thoughts of Liao Xing-zhi,the content of his works,the artistic characteristics and the influence in Hunan literature were mainly discussed firstly by three chapters.The second part,taking the Wenyuange Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature' ten volumes "Xing Zhai corpus" as the original text,the work's allusions,humans,historical facts,and difficult words were noted according to the Yong Le Encyclopedia and the complete works of song.
