The Analysis Of The Popular Cultural Psvchology Of Public Square Dancing

With the rapid development of China's national economy as well as the stable improvement of overall national power,people begin to put more emphasis on the demand of spiritual culture based on the continuous satisfying material life.Public square dancing is some kind of massive,non-professional social sports dance activity which mainly aims on entertainment and fitness.It does not belong to any single dance,or certain pure sports.Music remains the essential carrier of public square dancing.This thesis starts from the research on characters of music itself,exploring the common features of public square dancing music as well as analyzing the impact on human physical-mental mechanism from public square dancing and the affiliated music.Meanwhile,this thesis also tries to discover the cultural characteristic of public square dancing with the combination of relative theories on mass culture and sociology.This thesis is made up of five chapters:The first chapter,"Basic introduction of public square dancing".The author summarized current relative literature and defined the concept of public square dancing with the combination of own practice and research.The author also summarized the origin and development of public square dancing and concluded the characteristics of public square dancing.The second chapter,"Analyze on public square dancing music".The author set two research cases-The union public square dancing team of culture and sports of Wuliqiao Street,Huangpu District,Shanghai and The station front public square dancing team of Longzi Lake District,Bengbu,Anhui Province.These two cases were compared and analyzed from the perspective of music speed,rhythm and beats,melody,structure and features by means of data,charts and other methods.Meanwhile the author combines relative theories and achievements of acoustic stimulus-reaction in order to discover the impact on human physical-mental mechanism on participates.The third chapter "Massive culture characteristics of public square dancing and the music".Based on the results of the second chapter,the author analyzed the common culture characteristics and the aesthetic meaning of public square dancing and its music,from the perspective of mass culture.The fourth chapter,"The social property of public square dancing culture".Founded on the relative theories of sociology,the author analyzed the impact on individual and the whole society from public square dancing from several perspectives like group minding,conformity as well as motivation of affinity.The fifth chapter,"Current situation of public square dancing and the consideration about its development".Based on the analysis and statements from above chapters,the author concluded the driving force of the rapid development of public square dancing in China while provided corresponding thinking and suggestions with respect of its existing problems and developing trend.Within the development trend of current mass culture,popular public square dancing are influencing the life of some primary level.This research is expected to provide an overall summary and statement on the music character,culture character and social effect of the phenomenon of public square dancing based on the above analysis and research.The aim of this research is to provide an overall knowledge on the immanent cause of the development of this social and cultural phenomenon as well as the group psychology characteristics it reflected.
