German director Wim Wenders is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the world's film directors.He insisted on the art form of mere observation and the art conception of saving the existence,which possess the color of existentialism.These make him become one of the few film directors who keep artistry and popularity.Considering the previous researches were focus on the overall,which introduced Wenders discretely from the aspects including his way of engaged in film,his film theme and style,the author select the "salvation" theme from Wenders's film works and take it as a clue for a systematic analysis of Wenders's films.This paper explores the theme of "salvation" based on the ruin aesthetics of Benjamin and Contemporary European films.First,it focuses on the Wenders's pursuit of the authentic and unique film world,and then explicates the usual theme of"Wandering and pursuing" deeply.In the next part,the redeemers in the films consisting of characters and artistic images would be analyzed in detail.Finally,illuminated by the present film culture,the author would deepen the theme further and explore ontological survival dilemma the films reflected.In the conclusion,the focus will be eventually on the discussion about the survival meaning of the aesthetic subject.
