| In the process of globalization, the urban area plays a vital role in the social and economic development, in which the demographic composition has become more complex and more diverse, and families of immigrant population have ascended dramatically. Relevant studies have become a heated issue in the field of academia. This thesis randomly surveys the familial conditions of integrated families with immigrant population in an elementary school in Wuxi. Generally, the scholars contend that urban area should be considered as an entirety and language usage is determined by language attitude. The thesis proposes that the language usage is not necessarily related to language attitude on the basis of the quantitative analysis on the both aspects.Simultaneously, the thesis states several hypotheses after the qualitative analysis on two families. In the subsequent research, all the hypotheses are verified, indicating that relevant factors in hypotheses are closely related to family language usage. The writer believes that family language planning is a career of vital importance concerning the familial harmony and social stability, which requires the further research in this field. While the importance of selection in research method to relevant research is discussed, more questions that were overlooked in the past are involved, especially the family pattern of "native + immigrant population". This provides some improvement and supplement to previous research. |
