The Study On Child Care Organizations In Early New China(1949-1959)

The nursing and education of children has been widely concerned by the state and society since ancient times,but the modernized Child care organizations began to be founded under the influence of the West in the early 20 th century.In the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the party and the government paid much attention to women’s liberation and the healthy growth of children.Meanwhile,in the situation of a thousand things waiting to be done,the party and the government encouraged more and more women to take an active part in social productive labor,however,nursing children became a sort of resistance for women to participate in productive labor.Therefore,some Child care organizations were established and developed in such cases,which gained certain achievements.According to the demand for produce practice and government’s guidance,Child care organizations were established and promoted with women’s idea transformation.Due to the imbalance of regional economic basis and social development,Child care organizations have formed in different forms in the development process.In the urban areas,the industrial and mining enterprises nurseries and street nurseries is the main type of organization;in the vast rural areas,farming busy season nursery and childcare support group is the main form.The development of these Child care organizations are not only protect the health of children,but also cultivate children’s good habits,which greatly promoted the development of early childhood care and education.In addition,the development of Child care organizations to a certain extent,also liberated women labor force,improved their social status,and promoted the progress of the women’s liberation in the early of New China.Although the Child care organizations have had a positive impact on the development of women’s liberation and early childhood care,however,in the course of their development,the shortage of material resources,the lack of quality and quantity of nursery staffs,as well as the poor management and so on,have had a negative impact on the healthy development of this organization.In this paper,the early Chinese Child care organization are regarded as the object of study,using the knowledge of historical data to analyze the development grain of this organization,the organization’s type and characteristics in different parts and the impact on the child care and women’s liberation.This paper aims to provide some experience and references for the healthy development of these two current industries in China.
