As a Chinese traditional destiny view,the concept of fate has already sprouted in the primitive society.Until the feudal period,the concept of fate gradually combined with religion and culture,and deeply rooted in people's minds.The concept of fate not only has impact on people's life,but also plays a leading role in literature and opera creation.With the Sixty Melodies as an example,the works which reflect concept of fate up to fifty-one,the quantity is considerable.These works include almost of the Ming legend classic and legendary works,and various subjects are involved in the concept of fate.The prediction modes of fate phenomena in the Sixty Melodies are various,mainly including the gods told divination,physiognomy,dreams,omens,proverbs and common sayings.And in some of these works,a variety of predictive modes staggered emerge,strengthened the persuasion of fate concept,but also added mystery of drama creation.In the Sixty Melodies,the concept of fate mainly reflected in the expedition,career,marriage,children and life endings.It seems that the life and death of fortune,fame and career,love and marriage life are shrouded in the fate.The fate concept is on intimate terms with legends' plot and character shaping.In the story,the fate of the concept not only played an important role in promoting the plot,but also hind the development of it.The concept of fate can not only enlighten topics,reveal the themes,imply plots,but also increase the implicit beauty of drama works.However,in Sixty Melodies,the plots which clearly revealed the protagonist's fate not only limit the plot development,but also led to failing of the suspense setting.So it was difficult to satisfy the curiosity of audience and readers.It weakened the attraction of works.In terms of the character shaping,the Sixty Melodies have many plump character people,including persons who know their own life and who do not know their fate.In addition,the character of the hero and heroine can be seen through the fate concept's effect on communication between young men and women.In legends of the Ming Dynasty,a large of works which embody the concept of fate appeared.It has its profound causes.First of all,Confucian "dying is as natural as living",Buddhist karma theory and Taoist "bearing negative said" complement each other,provide the opportunity for the further development of the concept of fate;Secondly,the concept of fate has a profound impact on the Ming Dynasty scholar's view of life,and guides their literature and opera creation.And the appearance of fate phenomena increased strange,mysterious color to the legendary works,and it was in consistent with drama writers' "odd" pursuit of creation.In the end,the audience accepted and recognized the concept of fate in opera works,which also contributed to the creation of legendary works in fate.
