Study On Musicology Thoughts Of Zhedong School

As an important component of the Confucianism, Zhedong School's Utilitarianism objectively break through the bondage of traditional Confucianism's concepts and liberate scholars thoughts. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhedong School prosperous in Zhejiang district. The Southern Song Dynasty is rich in economy, prosperous in culture, and developed in science. Its rulers emphasized on civilization and employed scholars to deal with nation's affaires. In this Contention of a Hundred Schools of Thought time, free air of science study accelerated the prosperous of the Southern Song Dynasty's culture. Zhedong School,accompanied with Zhuxi Philosophy and Lu Jiuyuan Philosophy, rapidly emerged and aroused every scholar's attention. The three schools'musicology ideas also have their typical features.Zhedong School, whose main feature is Utilitarianism, appears and prosperous in eastern Zhejiang district. It could be divided into three sects(Jinhua School, Yongjia School and Yongkang School). Its academic tradition of "studying both classic and historiography, emphasizing historiography" has positive meaning to current academic study.Based on analysis on the Southern Song Dynasty's politics environment, economy environment, culture environment and society surrounding, musicology thoughts included in academic activities of three main representatives of Zhedong School's three sects are studied. Aiming at "drawing lessons from history and making the past serve the present",Lv Zuqian's (Jinhua School) interpreting of the Book of Songs and worship to traditional Confucianism, Chen Liang's (Yongkang School)composition of ci music, together with Chen Fuliang's (Yongjia School,elite scholar of Zhedong School in the Southern Song Dynasty) musical activities were studied to compare their academic claims with Zhuxi's musicology thoughts to rich academic study on Chinese ancient musicology thoughts and Zhedong School.
