The Study On Zhong Wu Ji Wen Of Gong Mingzhi

Zhong Wu Ji Wen, which focuses on Wu Zhong area's anecdotes, is dictated by Gong Mingzhi and organized by his son Gong Yu in the Song Dynasty. The article will have a study on Gong Mingzhi and Zhong Wu Ji Wen from many perspectives.Firstly,we analyze Gong Mingzhi's courtesy name,pseudonym,dates of birth and death, family members and intercourse. Investigating Gong Mingzhi's epitaph, his son Gong Yu's Kun Shan Za Yong and Fan Chengda's Wu Jun Zhi, his courtesy name should be "Xizhong", the pseudonym should be "Wuxiu Jushi". The preface of Zhong Wu Ji Wen and local chronicles infers that Gong Mingzhi was born in the Yuanyou Sixth Years in the Earlier Song Dynasty, died in the Chunxi Ninth Years in the Southern Song Dynasty.Gong Mingzhi was born in a scholarly family, and his work Zhong Wu Ji Wen recorded 17 entries about Gong's family members. He also had close contacts with a lot of celebrities in Wuzhong area, and his intercourse was an important source of Zhong Wu Ji Wen's creation.Secondly, we clarify the version of Zhong Wu Ji Wen. There are four kinds of inscriptions which all take into Zibu Novelists or Zibu Miscellaneous categories in the Ming Dynasty official or private bibliographies, and eight of eleven take into Shibu Geographies or Local Chronicles in the Qing Dynasty. This book has different versions.We focus on the first sorted version by Lu Xiong in Yuan Dynasty, the first transcript version collected by Ye Sheng's Luzhu House in Hongwu Eighth Year of Ming Dynasty, the first engraved version by Yan Chun in Hongzhi Seventh Year of Ming Dynasty, the engraved version by Gong Hong who is Gong Mingzhi's ninth grandson in Zhengde Ninth Year of Ming Dynasty,and the most widely disseminated version by Mao's Jigu Attic in the end of Ming Dynasty.Thirdly, we analyze the contents, the genus, and value of the book. The contents will be divided into six categories, including historical figures, poems and articles, stories,names, researches and codex systems. Zhong Wu Ji Wen is disputed in categories. We should put it into Zibu Novelists category considering later bibliographical works, the contents and structure type. By summing up the citation of Zhong Wu Ji Wen in later works so that we can find it's value in the aspect of literature,geographical and so on.Lastly, we choose two contents in Zhong Wu Ji Wen to make a in-depth study. One is about Ding Wei, Ding Wei has no virtue according to the History of the Song Dynasty and other jotting's records. But we just look his best in Zhong Wu Ji Wen, which provide us new materials for comprehensive understanding of this historical figure. In addition,Fan Zhongyan and Fan's family are of great influence in Suzhou. There are 32 articles related to Fan Zhongyan,which provide precious information for the study of Fan Zhongyan's creations, anecdotes and family.
